THE KURZWEIL PLUGS INTO A SYMPHONY OF SOUND.(Weekend)

How about a riddle? What do Tanglewood and the Mac- Haydn Theatre have in common? Judy Brown, musical director at the Columbia County summer theater devoted to musical revivals, provides a clue.

"Record the people from the Boston Symphony playing their particular instruments and then put them on compact discs and then insert those sounds on computer chips," she offers.

Need another clue? What's black and white and computer all over? Quoting Brown again: "It has 88 keys just like a regular piano and, in fact, the keyboard is a Steinway action."
